The win extends Leverkusen's unbeaten streak to six matches and marks the first time they have held the lead in the Bundesliga since the 2020/21 season.
Moussa Diaby opened the scoring for Leverkusen in the 12th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error by Bremen. The French winger drove into the box and fired past goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka at close range. Patrik Schick doubled Leverkusen's lead just before halftime, heading home a precision cross from Jeremie Frimpong.
Callum Hudson-Odoi sealed the victory for Leverkusen in the second half with a stunning solo effort. The English winger collected the ball on the left flank, dribbled past two Bremen defenders, and curled the ball into the far corner of the net. The goal was Hudson-Odoi's fourth in the Bundesliga this season, making him the club's joint top scorer alongside Schick.
Leverkusen's victory sees them move two points clear of Bayern Munich, who play Borussia Dortmund on Sunday. Werder Bremen, meanwhile, remains in 14th place, just three points above the relegation zone.
